Police called after victim showed up to Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to the hand

Shooting in the the 1200 block of W. Governor St. in Springfield, Illinois

Springfield, Illinois – Springfield Police were called around 5:05 p.m., today, after a victim arrived to Memorial Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the hand.




The male victim was described as being uncooperative when asked about the details of the shooting.

Springfield Police were informed that the shooting may have taken place at an apartment complex in the 1200 block of W. Governor St.




Inside the apartment building, officers located a blood trail coming from an apartment.

At this time, officers are still investigating other leads at this time.

The victim’s injuries appear to be non-life threatening.
